Basketball Recap: Gosnell Triumphs

After losing to Trumann the last time they met, Gosnell decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gosnell Pirates walked away with a 59-47 victory over the Trumann Wildcats on Monday. The 59-point effort marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Gosnell's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Trumann, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Gosnell will take on Buffalo Island Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gosnell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Buffalo Island Central likes a good challenge. As for Trumann, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-34 defeat against Brookland on the 10th.
