Soccer Game Preview: Botkins vs. Continental

The Botkins Trojans will challenge the Continental Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Botkins has four straight victories, Continental has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Botkins will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Spencerville on Thursday. The Trojans came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 4-2. Given Botkins' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Spencerville are ranked 340th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Botkins hit Spencerville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Addison Blindauer (2), Brylie Greve, and Melena Monnin.

Meanwhile, Continental's game on Thursday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Columbus Grove by a score of 3-2.

Continental's loss dropped their record down to 8-3-2. As for Botkins, their win bumped their record up to 9-4-1.
