Softball Recap: California City Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

California City had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Desert on Friday. The Ravens put the hurt on the Scorpions with a sharp 9-1 win. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Scorpions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cheyenne Roth was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Ibarra, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

California City's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Desert, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

California City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Ridgeview on the 29th. As for Desert, they have also already played their next contest, a 15-5 defeat against Kern Valley on the 1st.
