Volleyball Recap: Aurora Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Aurora Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Denver West Cowboys. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Aurora Central was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Denver West work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 24-26, 25-13, 25-16.

Andena Torres paced Aurora Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Torres really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Denver West found their leader in sophomore Annamarie Vega, who had seven aces and three digs.

Aurora Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Denver West, their record is now 4-2.

Aurora Central has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson on the 13th. As for Denver West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Wheat Ridge on the 13th.
