Baseball Recap: West Chicago Wildcats vs. Bartlett Hawks

West Chicago proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Bartlett Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since May 21, 2024.

Sam Zalak was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
