Basketball Game Preview: Catalyst-Maria Wolves vs. Christian Fenger Academy Titans

The Catalyst-Maria Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Christian Fenger Academy Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Catalyst-Maria had to suffer through a 62-7 loss at the hands of South Shore International. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Tars are ranked 224th).

Meanwhile, Christian Fenger Academy posted their biggest win since January 17, 2024 on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Hubbard with a sharp 47-21 victory.

This is the second loss in a row for Catalyst-Maria and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Christian Fenger Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Catalyst-Maria against Christian Fenger Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2018, as the team secured a 55-12 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catalyst-Maria since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
