Basketball Game Preview: York Prep Patriots vs. Chesterfield Golden Rams

York Prep hasn't had much luck against Chesterfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The York Prep Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chesterfield Golden Rams at 6:30 p.m.

York Prep is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They took a blow against Queen's Grant, falling 73-12. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-7.

Meanwhile, everything went Chesterfield's way against Central on Tuesday as Chesterfield made off with a 66-46 victory.

York Prep better focus on containing Terrahjah Robinson and Reagan Rivers as the pair were huge in Chesterfield's win. Robinson posted 17 points along with five assists and five steals, while Rivers had 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Honeycutt, who posted four points along with ten rebounds and five steals.

Chesterfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

York Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Chesterfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

York Prep was taken down by Chesterfield 61-19 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point York Prep was down 29-8.
