After flying high against Hemingway last Monday, Waccamaw came back down to earth. The Waccamaw Warriors took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mullins Auctioneers on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Auctioneers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Waccamaw's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Behney, who scored ten points in addition to five assists and two steals. That's the most assists Behney has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Joel Hodo, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points plus six rebounds.

Mullins found their leader in sophomore Dakarai Worley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds. With that strong performance, Worley is now averaging an impressive 10.2 rebounds per game. Deyon Ford was another key player, going 8 for 19 en route to 17 points plus five rebounds and four steals.

Waccamaw's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mullins, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
