Basketball Recap: JR Lang's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnson over Armijo

Johnson came up into this matchup off a tough 73-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Armijo Royals by a score of 59-57 on Wednesday. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Johnson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being JR Lang, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave Lang a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Desmond Mulhauser, who earned eight points and eight boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Armijo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jariah Johnson, who put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isreal Legree, who had ten points.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Armijo, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-12.

Johnson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-43 victory against Florin on the 17th. As for Armijo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-69 loss against Valley on the 17th.
