Berwyn/Cicero Morton finds home court redemption against Proviso East

There's no place like home for the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 39-34 win over Proviso East on Tuesday. For Berwyn/Cicero Morton, this counts as revenge for the 31-27 loss the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another on January 5th.

Proviso East's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Harrison, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Harrison hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Aiyanna Hannah, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Proviso East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwyn/Cicero Morton will face off against the Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Addison Trail and the Mustangs are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Proviso East, they will head out on the road to face off against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hinsdale South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in Illinois (the Hornets are ranked 73rd, while the Pirates are ranked 377th).
