Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Clifton Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 56-30 to Watseka/Milford. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Warriors are ranked 147th).

Clifton Central's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Donovan/St. Anne, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Donovan/St. Anne came up short against Clifton Central when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 52-42. Can Donovan/St. Anne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
