Baseball Recap: Eisenhower Comes Up Short

Eisenhower extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-10 in the process. They came up short against the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

As for Mercyhurst Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1. Considering they have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Mercyhurst Prep's part, Noah Reigel was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Reigel has posted since back in April. Alex Manendo was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Coming up, Eisenhower will head out on the road to challenge Corry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will welcome Union City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lakers are on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Bears a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
