Volleyball Game Preview: Lutheran Lions vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks

The Lutheran Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lutheran took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Sand Creek.

While Lutheran might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Sand Creek scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 25-21.

Cheyenne Mountain hadn't beaten Fountain-Fort Carson on the road since March 30, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Red-Tailed Hawks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red-Tailed Hawks.

While Cheyenne Mountain won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 25-20.

Lutheran's record now sits at 9-7. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their record is now 14-5.
