While Lapel's victory against Madison-Grant wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Argylls 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 contests in a row.

Gavin Rushton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kai Newman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. AJ Nunley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Lapel pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Madison-Grant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Lapel and Madison-Grant should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Bulldogs will face off against Kokomo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 113). Meanwhile, Madison-Grant (ranked 162nd) will meet Elwood (ranked 348th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
