Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Cape Fear Christian Academy

Cape Fear Christian Academy had won seven straight home games dating back to last season and Kayden Dunkins did his part to make it eight on Tuesday. The Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles enjoyed a cozy 70-56 victory over the Lee Christian Falcons thanks in part to Dunkins, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. Cape Fear Christian Academy is 12-3 when Dunkins posts ten or more boards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Caden Scarborough was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Loss or not, Lee Christian got some senior leadership from Justin Brown and Christian Wilson. Brown dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Wilson went 7 of 17 en route to 18 points. The game was Wilson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Rumbold, who posted nine points.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Lee Christian, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.

Cape Fear Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-49 loss against Harrells Christian Academy on the 13th. Lee Christian has also already played their next contest (against Cresset Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
