Baseball Game Preview: Nashoba Valley Tech Vikings vs. Lynn Vo-Tech Tigers

The Nashoba Valley Tech Vikings will challenge the Lynn Vo-Tech Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Nashoba Valley Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Nashoba Valley Tech took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Maimonides by a score of 5-2.

Elijah Galvin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josiah Wells was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Nashoba Valley Tech is undefeated when Wells posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Zane Beausoleil was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lynn Vo-Tech never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Notre Dame Cristo Rey on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-3 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Nashoba Valley Tech pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lynn Vo-Tech, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.

Nashoba Valley Tech took their win against Lynn Vo-Tech in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-8 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
