Southeastern hasn't had much luck against Adena recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 6:30 p.m.
Southeastern lost 3-0 to Zane Trace on Tuesday.
The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-15.
Meanwhile, Adena had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Redstreaks by a score of 3-1.
The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 23-25, 25-18, 25-4.
Southeastern better focus on containing Kortney Sowers and Kimmy Dalton as the pair were huge in Adena's win. Sowers had 30 assists and 15 digs, while Dalton had 24 digs and five aces. That's the most digs Sowers has posted over her last six matchups.
Adena was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 13 consecutive contests.
Adena's record is now 20-1. As for Southeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Southeastern has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Adena struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Southeastern might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Adena when the teams last played back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dalton, who had 23 digs and seven aces. Now that the Panthers know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
