Volleyball Recap: Gregory Comes Up Short

If Gregory was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Colome on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gorillas took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burke Cougars on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gorillas of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 27-29, 25-14, 25-8.

Gregory has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Burke, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Gregory will venture away from home to face off against Kimball/White Lake at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Burke, they will square off against Gayville-Volin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
