Baseball Game Preview: Pace Vikings vs. Donna North Chiefs

For the second straight game, Pace will face off against Donna North. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Chiefs at 5:30 p.m.

Pace made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Donna North, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Marcos Saldivar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Saldivar was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Oliver Olvera and Nathan Horner did most of the damage at the plate: Olvera scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Horner scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Horner a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Isaac Solis, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Pace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-13. As for Donna North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
