Football Recap: Gaither Takes a Loss

Gaither fell victim to Jefferson and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Jefferson Dragons, falling 20-0. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Even if they lost, Gaither's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Haileigh Playsied with two.

This is the second loss in a row for Gaither and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Jefferson, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Gaither will head out on the road to face off against Brandon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gaither is facing Brandon at the right time seeing as Brandon is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Jefferson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sickles at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th.
