Yorktown has gone a perfect 5-0 against Shenandoah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will challenge the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shenandoah will be up against a hot Yorktown team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Tigers blew past Shelbyville 10-1 on Wednesday.

Olivia Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Aul was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Brooklyn Bartle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Yorktown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelbyville only posted a batting average of .231.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Shenandoah nor Centerville made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Raiders never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Not much got past Olivia Watson, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Centerville off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tarran Mills, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Patrick, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Shenandoah's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Yorktown, their record now sits at 11-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Yorktown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Shenandoah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Yorktown took their victory against Shenandoah when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
