It was a classic North v. South duel when Northfield faced off against Denver South on Tuesday. The Nighthawks fell 3-1 to the Ravens. The Nighthawks' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Northfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-20.

Emma Keuler paced Northfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Keuler got some help from Kandice Kountz and her 27 assists. Kountz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Elaina Maldonado was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and four aces. Ava Lumly also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Northfield's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Denver South, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5.

Northfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Rampart on the 8th. As for Denver South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Coronado on the 31st.
