Softball Recap: Silver Bluff Comes Up Short

Silver Bluff fell victim to Barnwell and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhorses. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Warhorses: they've now lost seven in a row.

Silver Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Barnwell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will square off against Keenan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22.86 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Barnwell, they will take on Wagener-Salley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warhorses' pitchers better be ready for this one: the War Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
