After a string of four wins, Northwest's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Washington-Marion Charging Indians by a score of 64-61. The Raiders were probably out for revenge after losing 58-46 to them when the teams met back in January of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Washington-Marion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KHALI CELESTINE led the charge by putting up 17 points. ASHTON SAVOIE was another key player, posting 17 points.

Northwest's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4. As for Washington-Marion, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Northwest and Washington-Marion should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Northwest (ranked 40th) will meet Breaux Bridge (ranked 151st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Washington-Marion will take on Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 260 places (64 vs. 324).
