It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Lake Stevens ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arlington Eagles, sneaking past 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Charles Long-Scott spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josh Bouley was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Chase Fluke also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lake Stevens' record now sits at 11-5. As for Arlington, their record is now 7-11.

Lake Stevens will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
