Football Recap: Make It 11 in a Row for West Laurens + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, West Laurens rose to the challenge on Friday. They really took it to the Beach Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-6 victory. Considering the Raiders have won six games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

West Laurens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Branden Brooks led the charge by rushing for 118 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Those 118 rushing yards gave Brooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Cummings, who rushed for 130 yards and one score on only seven carries.

West Laurens' run defense was locked in: Beach could only muster 1.4 yards per carry. The Raiders didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.5.

The win keeps West Laurens at an undefeated 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 41.7 points this season. As for Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, West Laurens will square off against Oconee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Cummings and Caiden Wood. Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
