Baseball Recap: Corona Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Corona put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Roosevelt Mustangs. Considering the Panthers have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Corona let Billy Carlson and Anthony Murphy run wild. Carlson went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Murphy got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Trey Ebel was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Corona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Corona pushed their record up to 26-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Corona nor Roosevelt have any future games scheduled.
