As for Mar Vista, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
For Mar Vista's part, not much got past Peter Thomas, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Castle Park off the board. Thomas is becoming a predictor of the Mariners' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't).
