Softball Recap: Conard Red Wolves vs. Glastonbury Guardians
Conard couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 9-1 walloping at the hands of the Glastonbury Guardians on Monday. Conard has not had much luck with Glastonbury recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
For Glastonbury's part, the team relied heavily on Ryley Handrahan, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Lauren Meehan was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Glastonbury's victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conard will challenge Simsbury at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glastonbury, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Norwich Free Academy at 4:00 p.m.
