Football Game Preview: Lutheran Cougars vs. St. Mary's South Side Dragons

The Lutheran Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Mary's South Side Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran has given up an average of 42.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lutheran duked it out with Gateway Tech on Friday. The Cougars were outmatched by the Jaguars and fell 33-6. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary's South Side). They blew past Rolla 42-21 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dragons.

St. Mary's South Side's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Lutheran was dealt a bruising 56-12 loss at the hands of St. Mary's South Side when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 49-12.
