Football Recap: Springfield Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven + How To Watch

Springfield was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Liberty Creek on Friday. The Yellow Jackets were the clear victors by a 32-7 margin over the Wolves. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won three matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kason Woodson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries, while also throwing for 119 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Jaidon Hurst also helped out as he racked up 102 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 345 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Liberty Creek still got an impressive performance from Jackson Collier, who threw for 143 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 60 yards.

Springfield pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 31.3 points this season. As for Liberty Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Springfield will be playing in front of their home fans against McGavock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty Creek, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on White House at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Blue Devils will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
