Softball Recap: Spaulding Comes Up Short

Spaulding had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They lost 10-1 to the Londonderry Lancers. The matchup marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Londonderry, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

For Londonderry's part, Alison Chambers was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Chambers has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Shannon Crowley, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

While Spaulding had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
