Softball Recap: Willow Spring Has No Trouble Against Southeast Raleigh

After only one run in their last matchup, Willow Spring made sure to put some runs up on the board against Southeast Raleigh on Monday. The Storm were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Carly Simon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Howard, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Willow Spring always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast Raleigh only posted an OBP of .182.

Willow Spring now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Southeast Raleigh, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Coming up, Willow Spring will welcome Corinth Holders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Southeast Raleigh, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Garner at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
