Football Game Preview: Perkins Pirates vs. Napoleon Wildcats

The Perkins Pirates will head out to take on the Napoleon Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

Perkins is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clearview 51-7. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Clippers are ranked 461st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perkins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Levi Jackson, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Another back making a difference was JoJo Moore, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Perkins didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jaiden Hellinger, DJ Johnson, and Connor Smith picked up one apiece. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Napoleon). They never let Waite get on the board and left with a 49-0 win last Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Napoleon's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Perkins, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Perkins strolled past Napoleon when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 35-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
