Baseball Recap: Grove Extends Winning Streak to Four

Grove entered their tilt with Vinita on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 9-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 8-3 win last Tuesday.

Brady Dalton was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Dustin Keller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Grove's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Vinita, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Grove and Vinita will both be playing West County the next time they take the field. The Ridgerunners will head out to face the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
