It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South El Monte had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They secured a 59-54 W over the Banning Broncos. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won eight games in a row.

South El Monte's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Guzman led the charge by going 5-for-8 to rack up 15 points and five assists. That's the most assists Guzman has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tony Aguilar, who went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points.

South El Monte pushed their record up to 14-15 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Banning, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.

Looking ahead, South El Monte will face off against Rosemead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Banning does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
