Baseball Recap: Colonie Central Comes Up Short

Colonie Central couldn't beat Ballston Spa on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Scotties by a score of 7-6. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Scotties recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Colonie Central got a good showing from Jacob Shaul, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). What's more, Shaul gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025.

On the hitting side, Brady Juliano was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Robert Frey, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Colonie Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Ballston Spa, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Colonie Central will challenge Saratoga Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Wolfpack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Ballston Spa, they will face off against Troy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
