Basketball Recap: Genesee Takes a Loss

Genesee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 77-14 defeat at the hands of the Hamady Hawks. The match marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Aydin Cooper was Genesee's leading scorer, having posted five points. Qusai Bannoura held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

DeQueris Mayfield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hamady, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 18 steals. Mayfield is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jordan McClain was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Genesee's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Hamady, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Genesee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-41 defeat against Bendle on the 17th. Hamady has also already played their next matchup, a 77-19 win against Flint Southwestern Academy on the 15th.
