Football Recap: Lamar Raiders vs. South Choctaw Academy Rebels

Lamar had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the South Choctaw Academy Rebels as they made off with a 35-14 win. The Raiders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Sullivan Reed had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 164 yards and two TDs on only ten passes. Jalin Trotter was Reed's top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and two scores.

Lamar's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Dkharian Towner with two sacks.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will face off against Wayne Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for South Choctaw Academy, they will challenge Banks Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
