Baseball Recap: Otto-Eldred Terrors vs. Smethport Hubbers
Otto-Eldred fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Smethport on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hubbers by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hubbers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 back in April.
Michael Sheeler and Wyatt Blendinger stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sheeler got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run, while Blendinger got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Otto-Eldred's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Smethport, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.
Otto-Eldred does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Smethport, they will head out on the road to challenge Bradford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
