Softball Game Preview: Goodpasture Christian Cougars vs. Davidson Academy Bears

For the first time this season, Goodpasture Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Davidson Academy Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Goodpasture Christian has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Goodpasture Christian saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Gulf Shores. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Goodpasture Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serenity Harrison, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Harrison has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davidson Academy). Everything went their way against Christ Presbyterian Academy on Friday as Davidson Academy made off with a 14-4 victory. Considering the Bears have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Davidson Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Goodpasture Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Goodpasture Christian took their victory against Davidson Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2. Does Goodpasture Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Davidson Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
