Basketball Recap: Bucksport Comes Up Short

Bucksport was the 57-42 winner over John Bapst Memorial when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bucksport Golden Bucks received a blow on Monday as they fell 50-31 to the John Bapst Memorial Crusaders. The Golden Bucks just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Bucksport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for John Bapst Memorial, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 4-13 record.

Bucksport and John Bapst Memorial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Bucksport will take on Presque Isle at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday down 62 places (89 vs. 27). Similarly, John Bapst Memorial (ranked 76th) will meet Ellsworth (ranked fourth) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
