Basketball Game Preview: Campbell County Cougars vs. West Greene Buffaloes

The Campbell County Cougars will take on the West Greene Buffaloes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Campbell County saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They lost 71-48 to South-Doyle. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Cherokees: they've now lost six in a row.

Jake Hatmaker put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 11 points. Jack Sexton was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, West Greene didn't have quite enough to beat Cumberland Gap on Tuesday and fell 70-67.

Campbell County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for West Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Campbell County was able to grind out a solid victory over West Greene when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 66-54. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
