Game recap: Waterford High School Football Team defeats Rio Vista

RIO VISTA, Calif. - Despite trailing Rio Vista (Calif.) 16 points, Waterford (Calif.) came back strong to notch a 35-28 win over Rio Vista (Calif.) Saturday.

The Rams pulled ahead on a touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 22-14. The Wildcats took the lead to win the game on a Josh Hickman touchdown pass to Wesley Wright in the fourth quarter.

Waterford didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Hickman threw a touchdown to Wright.

Hickman was the top performer for WHS. The senior quarterback threw four touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.



Rio Vista came in giving up 15.3 points per game this season. RV struggled against Waterford's offense, who entered the game scoring 28.0 points per game.

The loss comes after Rio Vista defeated Vacaville Christian 51-20 last week. The win brought Waterford's winning streak to three games.
