            The Avon Eagles will head out to  square off against the Berea-Midpark Titans  at 4:45  p.m.  on Thursday. Avon's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1  runs per game  this season, so Berea-Midpark's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Avon's pitching crew heads into the  match  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Keystone  1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Eagles have posted  since April 9th.

Not much got past  Luke Holtzman, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Keystone off the board. Holtzman also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Avon is 3-1 when he allows at  most  two  earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
 At the plate, Avon's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Ian Cain, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base.
Meanwhile, Berea-Midpark came into Wednesday's   game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with  a   3-0  win over Olmsted Falls  on Wednesday.
 Not much got past  Danny Bowser, who gave up just  three  hits to keep Olmsted Falls off the board.
 Avon has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Berea-Midpark, their record is now 6-7.
 Avon couldn't quite finish off Berea-Midpark in their previous meeting  back in April and fell  6-4. Can the Eagles avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
