Pleasant Ridge dropped their record down to 9-6-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones by a score of 4-3. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cyclones apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Pleasant Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reily Gillaspie, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

As for Riverside [Wathena/Elwood], their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]'s side, Keagan Hughes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Chase Hewins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

While Pleasant Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
