Richardson came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-52 W against the Mesquite Skeeters. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Skeeters are ranked 261st).

Richardson's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Mesquite, they moved to 7-8 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Richardson will take on Nimitz in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mesquite, they will be home for the holidays to greet Saginaw at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Skeeters will be up against the Rough Riders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.07 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
