Volleyball Game Preview: Canon City Tigers vs. Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders

The Canon City Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Canon City got the win against Mesa Ridge by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

While Canon City won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.

Canon City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Donald, who had 12 digs.

Meanwhile, Thomas MacLaren School entered their tilt with The Vanguard School on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Coursers by a score of 3-1.

Thomas MacLaren School had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-21.

The win got Canon City back to even at 3-3. As for Thomas MacLaren School, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Canon City took their win against Thomas MacLaren School when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Canon City repeat their success, or does Thomas MacLaren School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
