Basketball Recap: Kerr-Vance Academy Comes Up Short

Kerr-Vance Academy played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Neuse Christian Academy Lions, falling 68-30. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was LJ Siplen, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Siplen has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Stovall, who scored ten points.

Neuse Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Reed Ransone, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Carter Brown was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 13 points.

Kerr-Vance Academy's record now sits at 0-2. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Kerr-Vance Academy will square off against Oxford Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carolina Friends at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
