Softball Recap: Kingston Takes a Loss

Reese hit Kingston with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 7-6.

Brianna Rayl made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Piper St. George was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Kingston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Reese, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Reese beat Kingston by a score of 10-4 later that day.
